NOTICE: CAREER CENTER CLOSING DURING THE WINTER BREAK!

As a result of recent budget-related decisions, all administrative offices on every campus across the University of Hawaii System will be closed during non-instructional days of the 2009-10 academic year. Specifically, closures are slated for:

  • November 27, 2009 (day after Thanksgiving)
  • December 21, 2009 – January 1, 2010 (Winter Break)
  • March 22 – 26, 2010 (Spring Break)

The Winter Break Closing will affect student-employees in at least three ways:

(1) A student-employee payday is scheduled for Friday 12/18/09 – the day before the winter closing. If you are not on direct deposit (check-to-bank), you will have to pick up your paycheck between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. on 12/18/09 or wait until school resumes in January.

(2) Time cards for the period 12/06/09 – 12/20/09 will have to be submitted by December 14th (instead of 12/20) so that supervisor and fiscal officer approvals can be completed before 12/18/09. Because the online time-sheet system will not let you record hours on a day before the day occurs, you will have to record your 12/14 – 12/20 hours on days in the 12/06 thru 12/13 time period. Be careful not to record more than 8 hours in a single day. Talk to your supervisor about specific hours to be included on this time sheet.

(3) Because the office where you work will probably be closed during the break periods, most of you will not be able to work and you will receive a smaller paycheck than usual on 01/20/10 and 02/05/10 paydays.
